Hi, I’m Petr, a sports enthusiast since early childhood.
It all started with handball in elementary school and continued through many different sports. I’ve spent a good part of my life in the gym, eventually discovering CrossFit, where I still love to compete — both individually and as part of a team. I enjoy skiing, hiking, swimming, and working out with my three-year-old daughter.
I’m a biohacker, which means I explore both modern and traditional approaches to optimizing the body and mind. I experiment with various techniques, training methods, and eating habits to achieve the best possible performance and a healthy body.
One of the things I want to bring into the FIT-REB project is my belief that a person should always be viewed holistically. It’s not only about physical fitness — it’s about mental well-being, nutrition, and overall lifestyle. My goal is to create an environment that supports people in all these areas, helping them reach their athletic and life goals.
How did the idea for FIT-REB come to life?
The first thought of creating a resistance-band training system came in 2019 when I sprained my ankle. The injury kept me from going to the gym and forced me to train at home. The only available option was resistance-band training, which led me to the idea of creating my own exercise system. Over time, I realized that resistance bands can be very effective — but I ran into the problem of how to anchor the band properly for different exercises. So I started looking for ways to secure the band more effectively or to design a tool to help me do it.
That same year, my wife and I began building our house, so I put the home band-training project aside for a while. While my wife described her vision for the bathroom and kitchen, I was enthusiastically imagining my own CrossFit corner in the garage. And my wish eventually came true.
Shortly after we moved in at the beginning of 2020, COVID hit. Luckily, I had enough time to equip the garage with basic workout gear — a pull-up bar, gymnastic rings, a medicine ball, and a weightlifting platform with a barbell, etc.
Even though gyms and sports clubs closed during the pandemic, it made me think about others who didn’t have the same home setup as I did. That brought me back to the idea of creating a resistance-band workout system.
I grabbed my welder and got to work. After a few days, I finished the first prototype! I attached the bands, and the training could begin. However, the first version only allowed for static band placement, which quickly proved limiting. So I started developing a new design that would allow the board position — and thus the angle of the resistance band — to be adjusted for a wider variety of exercises.
And that’s how the FIT-REB frame was born!
Months of testing and many adjustments followed. We completed the final version in cooperation with a professional company specializing in metal fabrication. All components are cut and processed using modern machines and welded by skilled Czech craftsmen.
As I mentioned earlier, I like to view a person holistically. That’s why I invited Jan, a physiotherapist, to join the team. Together we prepared a series of exercise video guides demonstrating how to use the FIT-REB frame. Under each video, you’ll find his commentary explaining how and why you should perform each movement, including possible modifications. We strive to share all information with clear purpose and reasoning. If you’ve recently suffered an injury or have specific needs or limitations, you can also schedule a consultation with him to create a personalized training plan that will help you recover and reach your goals.
Another team member is Mirka, a nutrition specialist, who shows people that the path to their dream physique isn’t about restriction and strict diets. With her support, you’ll eat meals you truly enjoy without spending thousands on supplements. Together, we will help you find a sustainable path that guarantees you’ll reach your goals.
And that’s how we got here! 🙂
